ESPE01: Etherwave Standard Pitch Extender This module adds about 2 octaves of range in the bass register, making it sound even lower than a double bass. Both linearity and sound of the Etherwave remain exactly the same in the mid and high register, and continue into the lowest regions of the extended pitch range. Here is what Dutch thereminist Thorwald Jørgensen has to say about it: "After several practice sessions I can't imagine ever playing another instrument than this one. The number of improvements due to this module can barely be described. The most obvious effect of the module is the new bass register: the pitch range has been extended with somewhat over two octaves. You can even play notes lower than the lowest note of a double bass. Furthermore, the instrument now has a full and rich sound in every part of the pitch range, and the linearity has improved remarkably. As far as I'm concerned, my Etherwave Standard is now much more suitable as a professional instrument, with a lot of the advantages of the Etherwave Pro, but with a much warmer sound....." Thierry's new module was first presented during the 2011 edition of the Theremin Summer Academy with Carolina Eyck & Thierry Frenkel in Colmar/Alsace/France. It removes the snappy-ness of the original model and enhances the dynamic range from ~40dB to up to ~67dB.
